It has become apparent to me that I should probably take questions for those of you who have never used YVD before. So first off, if you don't already have YVD downloaded, simply download it here (It should be the first one for most of you, unless you use a Mac, and if you do use a Mac you are gay =P) If you want to download the images you can also find the Image downloads on the same page as the YVD download, after you download the images you'll need to extract them, it's easier if you set your extraction point to your Image Folder inside the YVD Folder, if you have any questions feel free to post them here. Once you have YVD downloaded time to build your deck! Simply type in the card at the top inside the box it gives you and either double click or use the options on the right to put the cards in your deck. Then simply save it afterwards. Now once you have a deck and everything ready to go your going to want to connect to your opponent first your going to need to know your opponents username, for instance my username for YVD is the same as my username on here. It gives you like 5 options, 3 of them are irrelevant, the ones you are looking for are the ones that say: Server Duel: I Am Going To Be The Host Server Duel: I Am Going To Be The Client One of you will need to be the host, and the other, the client. Exchanges usernames and click connect. Easy as that. Oh! I should've mentioned in order to get a username you'll need to make an account here. Be sure to remember the password and username as you'll need those to verify your account on YVD. And whatever username you picked will be your username that you give to your opponent. You'll notice that your screename on YVD says "Newbie" to change that, once you first open YVD there is a Option on the left hand side at the top that says "Settings". Type in whatever you want your username to be on YVD in the box "Username" then just click "Save Settings and Exit" While Dueling these will come in handy: CTRL T = Mill (send a card from the top of your deck to the graveyard) CTRL R = Roll the dice CTRL F = Flip A Coin CTRL W = Draw and show the card CTRL K = Search through your deck CTRL S = Shuffle your deck CTRL D = Draw a card CTRL I = Search your removed from play area CTRL G = Search your graveyard CTRL E = End your turn CTRL U = Search your Extra Deck Those are just quick ways of doing stuff, you can always do it manually (usually the longer way) I'll come back and edit in more, as of now I gotta get packed. |

Thanks for the info DK. The first time I used YVD, I had NO idea what I was doing. I've only used it a few times since then, and I still don't know much. When did you plan on having the first tournement? Any idea on times of the day? Will it be over the course of a week? How many rounds? Lol, sorry, I guess I'm loading on the questions. Thanks again for all the YVD info. |

I might do the tournament next weekend, since I'm going out of town this weekend, but I still have a lot of ground to cover, like I need to get everyone comfortable with YVD before we even start so the tournament might have to wait until I've at least gotten to play with everyone and teach them some of the basics. When we do start it's probably going to be over a course of 3 days, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, hopefully that should be enough time for you guys to get in contact with your opponent and get your games done. As far as rounds goes it's still undetermined, but it depends on the number of people who sign up. |
