The scale is based on a 1 to 5, 1 being the worst and 5 being perfect

Hey everybody, welcome to the card of the day Monday, Skullclamp
and it's a big one folks. That's right you might have heard of it giving you +2 cards in your hand when the creature it's equipped to go to the grave, it's card advatage at it's best and it goes for a nice penny even as a uncommon. You give your creature a poor +1/+1 but don't fret as you will get 2 cards when it's killed, I've seen it in many tourny-winning decks and it's the best cantrip card you can have.

Construted: 4/5 a Must have for any deck.

Block/Sealed: 5/5 if you don't put this in a sealed deck your a idiot on the spot.

Casual: 4/5 You can run it and combo with just about anything here.

It's not in vintage or MTGO classic, but it should be I do agree with you on that.

and that sucks a Murderous spoils? LOL! I remember of playing that card in a draft with a guy who wanted to burn it on the spot for being awful black.

I knew it wasn't restricted in vintage (not like it needs to be) but I didn't know it was still allowed in classic, that just sounds like a recipe for disaster.

Skullclamp

Skullclamp was the first card banned in standard since the Urza's Block, that alone should attest to its power. It is said that card advantage is king in magic, so when there is a card that can repeatedly net you 2 cards for 1 mana and a cheap creature something is broken. This card alone created Elf and Nail bringing the deck to Tier 1 status for its ability to churn out a quick Tooth and Nail and for its ability to absolutely crush Affinity, the deck that Skullclamp is notorious for. Even after Skullclamp's standard banning the card was still a force in extended and legacy until it was eventually banned in those formats also. It is sort of funny that if the card simply gave +1/+1 instead of +1/-1 it would have been simply 'overpowered' rather than broken.

Construted: 5/5 I don't care if your deck doesn't have creatures, you still play it :)

Block/Sealed: 5/5 You win if this card hits play

Casual: 5/5 There are plenty of fun ways to abuse the clamp. I remember facing a deck that was trying to deck itself using skull clamp and fecundity.
