BURRRRNNNNN!!! Posts: 144 Group: Moderator Member #126 Joined: Jan 10, 2010	I was thinking of getting back into the first TCG I played, but I know it's changed a lot. I remember buying the expanstion base set as my last and I still have many of the older ones and many promos but I don't know where to begin now.

Posts: 124 Group: Members Member #46 Joined: Aug 26, 2009	all of the old cards are now extinct....what's legal in the format is anything diamond & pearl with the help of the platinum....when the format change again in august or so.... only platinum and heartgold/soulsilver will playable in tournaments...

SP deck will be on top without most of the major evolved pokemon(Kingdra LA, Machamp SF, Gyarados SF, and Gengar SF) to stop them. Donphan Prime will be able to compete though. Overall it seems like they're trying to find a balance between what the game is now and what it used to be with HGSS, and the older cards will just dominate until they're gone.

Pokemon communicator is basically just a Bebe's that you can use multiple times a turn, which is absurdly good. Elm will probably see some play too. As for the pokemon in HGSS, I'd say Donphan Prime is probably the best card in the set. The deck would want to run Blissey Prime or Manectric PL to stop bench damage though. Feraligatr Prime has an amazing power, but I'm not sure who you're supposed to use him with. He's built for speed but I can't think of any good water basics that he could help, with the possible exception of Gyarados G. Jumpluff has some fantastic donk potential too. Also, is it just me or is the regular Meganium better then Meganium Prime?
