![]() ![]() Welcome to COTD double take, today since I forgot last nights review I'll make it up to you from now on. It's Shivan hellkite and dragon, what more could you ask for? they both are nasty and one get pumped and the other deals damage to a creature or player which is nice, in today's meta we have Chandra naalar for 1 damage to a player which I suppose it better but I don't like planeswalkers so. They both are dragons and they both fly, hellkite is a 5/5 and the dragon is 5/5 as well, pretty good for a 7 and 6 mana which you can pull out with help from seething song, lotus bloom, and dragonstorm making these nasty to put on the field, your opponent won't know what hit him worst of all is that these were used in a old school dragon deck (way before mirrodin was ever released) that had just about the biggest shocks and lighting bolts and many lands not to mention the time it would take. Now a days it's quicker to get just about anything out and dragons are not a exception. 1 to 5, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best Constructed: 3/5 They are hard too pull out and there is better ways of dealing with them. Sealed/draft: 1/5 Casual: 4/5 |

Proofread as asked by ExarionUniverse1. I did adjust the ratings a bit, but you can change the ratings back if you want. I'm not a big fan of dragons, but i do think these particular dragons are powerful in limited. I'll make it up to you with two cards today. It's Shivan Hellkite and Shivan Dragon. What more could you ask for? Both dragons are nasty on their own. One dragon has a firebreathing effect built in. The other dragon deals damage to a creature or player which is nice. In today's meta we have Chandra Naalar, whose first ability also does 1 damage to a player. I suppose Chandra is better but I don't like planeswalkers all that much. Both of todays dragons and they both fly, Shivan Hellkite is a 5/5 and the Shivan Dragon is 5/5 as well, pretty good for a 7 and 6 mana which you can pull out with help from cards such as rite of flame, seething song, dragonspeaker shaman, lotus bloom, and dragonstorm. Using these cards in unison, your opponent won't know what hit him. Worst of all, these dragons were used in a old school dragon deck (way before mirrodin was ever released) that, through burn spells such as shock and lightning bolt, had the time to safely play these devastating dragons. Nowadays, it's quicker to get anything out through powerful mana acceleration and ramp spells and dragons are no exception. Rating scale: 1 to 5, 1 being the worst and 5 being the best Constructed: 3/5 (They are hard too pull out and there are better ways of dealing with them.) Sealed/draft: 3/5 (Dragons are great limited bombs, but these usually aren't first picks. Shivan hellkite is probably better in a limited format) Casual: 4/5 (Dragons are, without a doubt, one of the most popular casual deck types. These dragons are very strong in more casual formats such as tribal) |
