Okay, so it's the classic tale, or even based on the sequeal book. It's an original plot. While I don't overly care for said plot, the actual visual aspect is marvelous. |

Yeah, that dress was definitely the highlight for me as well, so pretty. Movie wise though, there was one thing that bugged me quite a bit, and it had to do with when Alice went to fight the Jabberwoky. As in, was I the only person to find it really strange that Alice didn't even question him before the battle, as to why they were fighting in the first place? I'm saying this because throughout the movie, Alice established herself to be an independent thinker who wasn't the least bit bend on violence or physical conquest. Aka, she wasn't Jean-Claude Van Damme, and she wasn't one to blindly follow the road before her. Now, when it comes to the Jabberwoky, it was never explained why he needed to follow/obey the Red Queen. If anything, the fact that he did was puzzling in itself, as he was suggested to be around doing his thing before her existence, let alone reign. Along with that, he was shown to posses just as much, if not more humanity & logical personification than many of the other characters did, where his only "drive" was to vanquish a sword that was suggested to have been used to hunt him in the past by people who might not have been as fair as Alice. So given this information, as well as the fact that your chances against against such a beast aren't exactly grand, wouldn't you have at least questioned the beast as to why you're fighting each other? I mean, its not like your village was being bombed or anything, and its not like the Jabberwoky was incapable of logical communication. The battle was planned, and you were set up to fight someone (I say someone, because he was clearly not an "it") who wasn't even your enemy. I suppose I could be thinking too heavily into this, but the way the situation played out seemed to be really illogical & out of character, at least to me. |

No, Val, you're not overthinking. That made perfect sense, and would have made the movie much much better. |
